The Western region under 19 national representatives Vihiga based Ebwali high school was defeated by St. Anthony’s boys Kitale in a post match penalty shootout after the normal time had ended with a barren draw. St. Anthony’s were the first to lose the 4th penalty kick before Ebwali followed suit to lose their 4th penalty.
However, Ebwali lost their 6th penalty to give St Anthony’s a clear final ticket in this year’s competitions after having been eliminated at the semi final by Olbolsat in last year’s encounter
St Anthony is now expected to entertain Dagoretti Boys high school on Saturday in the boys’ under 19 final who eliminated Olbolsat in the other semi final.
In soccer under 16s, Koyonzo defied the odds by beating North Eastern side Boys town 3-1 in a penalty shootout after the two had drawn 1-1 in normal time.
Isaac Juma scored an equalizer for Koyonzo to reinstall their final chances before the match ended in a 1-1 draw. After the extra time, Chrispinus Kubende, Cyril Odunga and Machio Dairus were on spot to score three goals that took Eliud Okwemba’s side to the final.
The school has previously received massive support from their principal Boaz Adit who before the competition organized friendly matches.
In netball, the girls’ category, Bukokholo was defeated 37-28 by champions Kaya Tiwi to book a playoff match ticket against Karuri who defeated Nyakach in the other semi final.
In the girls’ under 19 Arch Bishop Njenga girls were shocked after enduring a 2-0 defeat against Nyakach in the semi final on Friday. Nyakach is now set to face Itigo of Rift Valley who pummeled Njabini 5-0 in the other girls semi final match.
