Kerosene cost increases as Diesel, Super Petrol costs decline;prices in some major Western towns

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced an increase in Kerosene price, and reduction in Super Petrol and Diesel prices from the period between 15th August to 14th September 2019, a boost for motorists. The prices of Super Petrol and Diesel have decreased by Kshs 2.86 and Kshs 3.28 per litre respectively, while Kerosene has increased by Kshs 1.98 per litre.

The price changes have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 5.64% from US$ 528.26 per cubic metre in June this year to US$ 498.46 per cubic metre in July, Diesel decreased by 7.11% from US$ 519.39 per cubic metre to US$ 482.47 per cubic metre and Kerosene increasing by 1.88% from US$ 503.63 per cubic metre to US$ 513.10 per cubic metre. In Nairobi, Kerosene will retail at Kshs 103.95, Diesel at Kshs 100.60 and Super Petrol at Kshs 112.53.

In Kakamega, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 114.07, Diesel at Kshs 102.36 and Kerosene at Kshs 105.71 per litre. In Bungoma, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 114.73, Diesel at Kshs 103.01 and Kerosene at Kshs 106.36. In Kitale, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 114.32, Diesel at Kshs 102.61 and Kerosene at Kshs 105.95 per litre. In Webuye, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 114.20, Diesel will cost Kshs 102.48 and Kerosene will cost Kshs 105.82 per litre. In Kapenguria, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 114.70, Diesel will retail at Kshs 102.98 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 106.33 per litre. In Malaba, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 115.15, Diesel will cost Kshs 103.44 and Kerosene will cost Kshs 106.78 per litre.
