Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has set aside Wednesday 13th as a holiday in the County to mourn the late retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. Speaking in his County office after leading the signing of the condolences book, Governor Sang issued the order saying it will allow many residents to set aside more time for mourning the late Moi. He appreciated the elaborate process that has been instituted to mourn the the former president by the national government spearheaded by the Kenya Defence Forces.
The Governor noted that that Moi was a very instrumental leader during his tenure citing that measures to prevent soil erosion in some hilly parts of Nandi County were spearheaded by the late Moi. He added that he will be celebrated in Nandi for promoting a lot of development projects cutting across from education, health and construction of many churches.
