Days after President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Rails Odinga received the official BBI report, leaders are still expressing their views on the report. Trans Nzoia County woman representative Janet Nangabo urged the national government to distribute booklets of the report to Kenyans so they can read and make informed choices. She also appealed to politicians not to be divided by the document but instead lead the public to read its contents. “I urge people to read the report and understand it well,” she stated. She said Kenyans haven’t gone through the whole document but there are issues that are already contentious, including the proposal to have a powerful President who may in turn wield dictatorial powers.
She also lauded County residents for embracing peace and living in harmony with others, thus making sure every one goes about his business peacefully. However, former Kwanza MP Dr. Noah Wekesa said for the report to be a success there needs to be political good will and a tough stand against corruption in the government.
