The national government has been urged to give full recognition and financial assistance to heroes who’ve done exceptional deeds and contributed to shaping the society. This was the message as Kimilili FYM primary school alumni met and lauded retired teacher John Wanjala Masinde from Kibingei ward, who worked tirelessly as a teacher.
Dr. John Wanyonyi Matuya, a senior lecturer of Pure Mathematics at the Maasai Mara University appreciated the retired teacher, saying he shaped who he is today, “The national government should set aside funds to help heroes across the country and keep them doing what they do best,” he said. Jeffrey Wangoliko, who is also an alumni of Kimilili FYM primary school said Mr. Masinde used to be tough on them to make sure they achieve their dreams.
The area chief Johnstone Kimasere appreciated the efforts of the retired teacher, saying he was a pastor, and a councilor, taking up the role of a mentor in the process. The former students contributed Kshs 100,000 and bought a cow for him. They also said they’ll finish the construction of structure sin the school. On his part, Masinde urged parents to take care of their children and pay school fees to ensure they achieve their dreams.
