West Media fans have been urged to embrace education and make sure they take their children to school. Addressing mourners at the funeral of mama Neddy Muuyi, who is the mother-in-law of mama Asha Njebhwe, a West Media fan at Sipala in Webuye East, presenter Victoriah Sindani said education is key and is the only true investment one can give the children.
She said fans should ensure that they don’t stay with children at home while others are in school. She said that even those who are pregnant should go to school, but noted that parents should guide and counsel their kids to avoid the scourge of early pregnancies.
Her sentiments were echoed by Mihuu MCA Violet Makhanu, who said up to now, some parents haven’t taken their kids to school and urged chiefs and their assistants to go to different homes to ensure children have gone to school. She said parents should also support school programmes by paying fees on time instead of waiting for bursaries which aren’t sufficient.

She further urged West Media fans to engage in viable projects that will propel and enable development. The fans clubs leadership led by Hosea Wenyanya, who is the chairperson of the Tongaren fans club, asked residents who haven’t joined Salaams clubs to do so, and enjoy the benefits that come with it. He said the clubs are development oriented and are helpful in the society.
On her part, mama Asha Njebhwe lauded the late mother in law Neddy, saying she was a focused woman whose council will be missed by many who knew her.
