Education Cabinet secretary Prof George Magoha has ordered all candidates to be allowed to sit for the national examinations regardless of whether they are registered for the same or not.

Magoha says denying the candidates an opportunity to sit the exams yet they have been preparing for the same for a whole year is torture and may affect the future of the young boys and girls.

Speaking in Kakamega primary school, Prof Magoha wondered why some candidates had not been registered yet the government disbursed money to register them both in private and public schools.

He called for an immediate investigation into the issue warning that action will be taken against those who declined to register the candidates maliciously terming it a crime.

The CS also assured students who moved from one region to another due to life challenges that the ministry had set up plans to ensure that they sit the examinations comfortably.

He further warned those planning to engage in exam irregularities that the ministry is aware and stern action will be taken against anyone who will be found guilty of the offense.

Kakamega primary registered 377 KCPE candidates this year, being the fourth-biggest primary school in the country.
