A middle aged man is under the custody at Center Kwanza police station for defiling a 14 year primary school girl who is physically challenged.

According to the mother of the child the incident took place on Sunday evening with the suspect who was a neighbor who did the act while the mother was not at home as she had gone for casual labor in the nearby farm.

The mother stated that the perpetrator took advantage of the child who was challenged as she carried her into the nearby maize plantation before doing the beastly behavior on her. She realized that her daughter had been defiled when she noticed blood oozing from her private parts then she enquired from her daughter with the help of  nyumba kumi .

She said that the suspect was apprehended in his house at the morning of Monday  by the National Police Reservist NPR before being handed to police at the Center Kwanza police station.

OCPD of the station James Odero confirmed the incident claiming the suspect is held at the station and that the defiled child was undergoing medical tests before arraigning the suspect to the court of law.

The OCPD stated that defilement cases in the area are rampant blaming parents for colluding with culprits who upon being arrested on the similar matter, they take advantage of soliciting for cash as well as forming kangaroo courts where two parties are engaged in money exchange and fail to provide evidence in courts leading to increased defilement cases in the area.

He has warned parents from engaging in the vice and instead told them to come forward and help police officers in eliminating such cases in the area that was taking toll in the area “locals have been blaming police for failure to act on defilement cases yet if the suspects are arrested , they fail to produce evidence in court,”  claimed OCPD Odera
