Lwanda Lugari West FM salaams club group has launched a livestock keeping programme aimed at empowering its members economically.
Speaking during the launch where they donated four goats to four different members in an event held at Shitsimi village, Marausi sub location, the group’s chairman Francis Simidi alias Baba Juma said the group’s aims at ensuring each member has a goat.

“Once each member gets a goat we will expand the programme and move to cows where we intend to give a dairy cow to every member,” said Simidi.
He said apart from the livestock keeping project, the group has rolled out several projects aimed at benefiting all members and ensuring each one of them is self-reliant.
Besides the projects, he said the group also supports its members in times of need like funerals and other ceremonies.

During the event Charles Shikami, Margaret Nanjala, Edward Kituyi and Florence Omutsembi received a goat each.
Mr. Simidi urged those who are not in groups to join them and move together in terms of development.
