Members of Lwanda Lugari West FM salaams club have continued to expand their socioeconomic program by donating ten goats to its members.
Speaking during the event held at Shitsimi village, the chairman Mr. Francis Simidi alias Baba Juma reiterated the group’s commitment in empowering its members economically.
So far we have given 14 members a goat each and we intend to ensure each member has a goat before we move to the next level of giving a cow to every member in the efforts of fighting poverty among our members,” said Simidi adding the group has rolled out several projects aimed at benefiting all members.
Members who received the goats could not hide their joy, some saying they had never kept a goat in their life thanking the group for the opportunity.
“I am now about 70 years old but I have never reared a goat for the years I have lived on this earth,” said Phoebe Nakhayami.
Her sentiments were echoed by Asha Londela and Kennedy Manava who also said it was the first time for him to keep a goat.
