Voting exercise in some polling stations in Nandi did not kick off at the official IEBC time due to the KIEMS kit failure which led to the delay.
Kapsabet Boys primary school polling station in Chesumei constituency witnessed the problem which delayed the voting exercise by fifty minutes leaving voters with no option but to remain patient on long queues since 5am.
The County Elections Manager Nandi County Branch Mr. Silas Rotich arrived immediately at the polling station to counter-check the cause of the failure of the KIEMS gadget and with the twinkling of an eye, the problem had been sorted and it paved way for the commencement of the exercise which went on smoothly.
Rotich asked Nandi residents to turn out in large numbers and exercise their constitutional and democratic right of voting in order to make their choice of leaders.
He affirmed that the Commission is very much committed in delivering fair and credible elections thus asked voters to vote peacefully and preach peace at all times.
Security in the polling centers have been beefed up and the weather conditions are favourable as there are no rains at all thus gives voters ample time to go and vote.
So far so good, the entire election exercise is ongoing well in all the 927 polling centers across the region. Nandi has a total number of 406,288 registered voters respectively.
