The second Iteso cultural leader will be coroneted on Saturday 22nd October in Soroti City Sports Ground.
The installation of Paul Sande Emolot as Papa Emorimor follows the demise of the first cultural leader Augustine Lemukol Osuban who passed on early 2022 and was laid to rest in his ancestral home in Serere district.
The Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is expected to be the chief guest. It’s instructive to note that Museveni’s government accorded the late Osuban a state funeral.
Venansio Vance Omome the Iteso Cultural Union Prime Minister who is also the Chairperson Organizing Committee says the installation of the New Emorimor will kick off from 9 o’clock in the morning and will be graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who will be accompanied by the Vice President Maj Retired Jesica Alupo the daughter of the soil, Rt. Hon. Speaker Anita Among, and Government Ministers.
Others present will be Teso members of Parliament, Teso Local governments, political, civic and religious leaders, the Diaspora, business community and the general public.
Paul Sande Emolot was declared unopposed for Emorimor candidature by the Iteso Cultural Union EC Chief Dr. Charles Otim after closure of nominations on 12th July. He hails from the Ikuruk clan from Tororo which consists Teso South districts along others like Mbale, Manafwa, Busia,Mayuge, Bugiri among others.
