A section of DAP-K members from Kabuchai Constituency allied to former DCC Eric Wanyonyi protested peacefully at Chwele market demanding the party leadership to explain the reason for giving out the same nomination certificate to two hopefuls.
The angry protesters who were carrying placards chanting songs, lamented against the double standard done by the party officials.
“We witnessed the party primaries at Mabanga where former DCC Eric Wanyonyi got 47 votes against his opponent Dr. Gasper Wafubwa who managed to get 36 votes, so we are wondering how things changed,” one of the protesters said.
They alleged that some party officials have imported the underhand tricks that were being used in Ford Kenya party to pin down some aspirants saying they will not accept it in DAP-K.
“We know the masters brewing this and we want to warn them if they will not issue the certificate to the candidate who won fairly there will be no DAP-K in Kabuchai Constituency, we will all move out,” one the angry members said.
They appealed to the party patron Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to intervene and bring sanity in the new party citing high level of corruption among the officials.
