Moi Primary School Bungoma head teacher Mr. Kelfine Wanyama has emerged as the best head teacher in Western, following recognition by the Kenya Primary Schools head Teachers Association (KEPSHA). Speaking to West Media, Mr. Wanyama was elated as he thanked God for the award and recognition, noting that previously he had received other recognitions like teacher of the year but not the aforementioned award.
He attributed the award to God’s favor and teamwork from other teachers, who’ve created the right environment for success. Moving forward, the school head who was formerly at Bungoma DEB primary school said he intends to broaden the academic influence past the region and benefit others, “We’d like to go beyond the region, and link with other schools, help more teachers,” he said, noting that he ultimate beneficiaries will be the children.
He also highlighted the good results posted by Moi Primary School Bungoma this year, where 15 children scored over 400 marks. Out of 271 KCPE candidates, only 6 got below 250 marks and only 2 got below 200 marks.
