Kenya’s Covid-19 cases have reached 34,493 after 178 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday. The Ministry of Health in a statement said 3,474 samples were tested in 24 hours. All of the new cases are Kenyans, except 4 foreigners. 110 are male, 68 are female while the youngest is a 3-year-old and the oldest is 77-years old.
Nairobi is still recording the most daily cases, with 48 new cases confirmed. Kericho has 24 cases, Busia has 22, Garissa has 12, Kiambu has 12, Kisii has 10, Kisumu has 9, Uasin Gishu has 8, Nakuru has 7, Embu has 6, Bomet has 4, Mombasa has 3, Kitui has 2, Machakos has 2, Narok has 2. Laikipia, Meru, Siaya, Isiolo, Makueni, Murang’a and Nyeri have 1 case each.
The recoveries recorded have surpassed the new cases, with 238 confirmed, 187 from home based care and 51 from hospitals, taking the total to 20,449. However, 4 deaths have been confirmed, with fatalities now at 581.
