Kakamega Senator, Dr. Bonny Khalwalwe has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto to comment on the raging debate over the National Youth Service (NYS) graft.
Addressing residents in Likuyani Sub County, Khalwale wondered why the president and his deputy have remained silent over the scandal, which he noted was almost tearing apart the ruling Jubilee coalition.
“It is a pity that neither Uhuru nor Ruto has uttered a single word over the NYS scandal, yet their lieutenants are publicly throwing chairs at each other,” said Khalwale.
Khalwale told the National Assembly Majority Leader, Mr. Adan Duale and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen to carry their own cross over the NYS scam.
“When Hon. Raila Odinga blew the whistle over the NYS scandal, it was the likes of Adan Duale, Kipchumba Murkomen and their sidekicks who vehemently defended former devolution cabinet secretary Ms. Ann Waiguru against corruption claims,” said Khalwale who wondered why the two now disown her.
The vocal senator now wants the president and his deputy to publicly share their knowledge about the scam.
“Unless if their continued silence is enough evidence of their involvement with the scandal in which more than 790 million shillings belonging to the tax payer was swindled into individual pockets,” added Khalwale.
