Cases of fatal attacks among spouses and against young people in relationships have been on the rise in Nandi recently and across Kenya.
This is according to Nandi chair for preventing and encountering violent extremism initiative Mr Simion Cheruiyot. Speaking to West Media concerning the vice, the Nandi chairman for prevention of violent extremism initiative Mr. Simon Cheruiyot.
He cited an increase in murder cases, where those who are married or dating are opting to kill their partners due to lack of trust, and he has called for residents to embrace communication. His appeal comes three days after a 33-year-old man from Kiborgok village in Nandi murdered his lover and later committed suicide. Cheruiyot who is also the chair of the Nandi human rights watch and a religious leader asked couples to embrace dialogue as the only mode to solve relationship matters.
Two weeks ago, a middle-aged lady in Tindiret constituency brutally killed his two kids and dumped them in a pit latrine, for unknown reasons. He further urged Nandi residents to attend seminars for countering violent extremism in order to be taught how to solve the problems when the need arises.
