KANU leaders from West Pokot County have castigated the opposition party NASA for failing to name its presidential candidate for the August polls.
The leaders challenged the opposition to name their candidate who will challenge Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.
They said that the country should have a credible opposition to put the government on its toes.
Led by West Pokot Senator Prof. John Lonyangapuo and former Cabinet Minister Samuel Poghisio, the leaders cited that Kenyans are getting impatient when it comes to the opposition party naming their flag bearer.
“Time is moving and people have started losing faith in them. By now we must’ve known who is their presidential candidate. In 2013, the opposition named its presidential candidate on time,” said Lonyangapuo.
Speaking at Karenger ,the leaders called on the four NASA Principals to solve their differences and agree on one candidate.
“They should concentrate on telling Kenyans their manifesto at the moment, not leaving people in suspense and dilemma,” Lonyangapuo said. The leaders said that they will back Uhuru Kenyatta in the coming polls.
Lonyangapuo cited that even within Jubilee there is opposition, but that’s democracy. “Even in Jubilee there is some complaining but that is democracy,” he said.
Poghisio assured President Uhuru Kenyatta that as KANU they will support him in the August elections, but he should reserve some seats for KANU.
