West Pokot governor Simon Kachapin has welcomed the ICC ruling on the termination of the cases that was facing Deputy President William Ruto and Radio journalist Joshua Sang.
The governor said it is true that ICC had seen the reality and thanked all those who took major role in supporting the two.
“The truth has now come out.The two were being victimized for nothing. We are now winners,” said Kachapin.
Kachapin reiterated that former prosecutor Mr. Moreno Ocampo did a shoddy job while doing his investigations.
“Ocampo rushed with the investigations and landed on the wrong people. We are happy that the ICC court has realized this,” said Kachapin.

He added that it was time for Kenya to promote peace and reconciliation and forgiveness for the betterment of a prosperous nation with several sub tribes adding that it was timely for the case since the country is headed for the next year’s general elections.

“We now urge reconciliation among the Kenyan communities for the Nation to prosper. As we approach to the next elections people should be careful and not repeat what happened in 2007-2008,” he said.
Kachapin said that West Pokot county residents have received the verdict with joy as part of last year several prayers were carried out by the Pokot council of elders in ensuring that the two suspects were being freed by the Hague based court.
“The elders prayed for Ruto and Sang each and every time and now God has answered their prayers. ” He said
Speaking in Ortum boys during a prize giving event Kachapin said it is good that the Deputy president is out of the hook and now will concentrate on his job.
“The DP will now work well for the building of the Nation with the President.” He said .
The county boss further said they are behind the DP and the president.
“We support the president and his deputy and will make sure they win elections in 2017,” he said.
Meanwhile residents of Kapenguria poured on the streets of to laud the Deputy president and radio Journalist Joshua Arap Sang for winning the case.
They sang songs of praise for the two terming them as heroes of the year.
