Likuyani MP, Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy, has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to redeem the country’s image by cracking the whip against corrupt officials in his government.
Addressing residents in his constituency Kibunguchy said the level at which corruption has reached in the country requires a stern action.
“It is a pity that Kenya is now the third most corrupt nation worldwide,” observed Kibunguchy who attributed the same to escalating corruption within the Jubilee government.

However, the Likuyani MP absolved the president from several corruption scandals that have been in the public domain, but accused the masterminds of corruption of exploiting their proximity to the president and his leniency.
“Uhuru is among the wealthiest people the world over. Therefore, it will be improper to think he is hungry for money,” said Kibunguch.
“In fact if there is any leader in the African continent who should be the last one to think of amassing riches, then that leader is Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to the legislator, the problem of heightened corruption lies squarely on hands of some government officials working in the Jubilee government, “Otherwise, if given good public servants who adhere to integrity, I believe Uhuru can perform exceptionally as a president.
Kibunguchy wants the president to walk the talk by cracking the whip on his deputy, William Ruto, and all state and public officers that have been mentioned in various graft scandals.
“The deputy president and crooked state and civil servants ought to either resign or to step aside and pave way for investigations into graft allegations facing them,” stated Kibunguchy who added that the president required some peace of mind to serve Kenyans better.
