Bungoma County governor Ken Lusaka has urged county residents to form groups so as to benefit from different funds set aside by the county as well as the national government to help start up development projects to be financially stable.
Speaking at his backyard in Kamkuywa during a fundraising to aid Kamkuywa bodaboda motorbike Sacco, Lusaka said through the registered groups they will be able to get funding and be self sustainable.

He disclosed that being a governor of the whole County he has to traverse whole areas of the County to ensure development projects launched are on course but assured Kamkuywa residents that he has not forgotten them and will also be touring his home region for the same.
“For the bodaboda Sacco we want to empower you to ensure we uplift you from the current motorbikes to even purchasing a bus that will be able to have more returns to your Sacco to enable you to even expand your business further” he said
Governor Lusaka gave out his personal donation of Ksh. 250 000 and promised to deliver a pledge from President Uhuru Kenyatta of the same amount some time later saying they are committed to helping out the Sacco be sustainable.

Area Mca Moses Opicho said after having helped register the bod boda Sacco he will also help other groups in the ward be financially stable through organizing one big Harambee to empower them economically saying they are capable of transforming the economic sector of the region.
However he called upon politicians to work together to uplift the living standards of the residents rather than focusing of political sideshows saying with the devolution government in place residents at the grass root level need to be the largest beneficiaries of the devolved system of government.

Tongaren Sub County motor bike Sacco chairman Isaac Kalenda took the opportunity to call upon the security agents to ensure hey curb the issue of theft of motorbikes saying cartels from other counties have been for a long time been stealing motorbikes and selling them elsewhere.
However he cautioned the operators to observe the time of operation saying those operating until late in the night only risk their lives as they are offered a lot of money to take customers at some destinations yet they turn out to be robbers.
