The County government of Nandi through the department of roads and infrastructure have suspended road works for a period of two weeks, following heavy rainfall experienced across the County. In a statement sent to newsrooms, the acting CEC for Roads and Infrastructure Elly Kurgat said the road works have been suspended till the heavy downpour subsides.
All contractors working on County roads have also been notified to suspend their operations with immediate effect. The CEC said the Ministry will collaborate with the meteorological department to know and understand better the progress of the weather pattern.
Nandi County and some other parts of the country have been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past weeks, and some roads in Nandi have been rendered impassable. Tindiret constituency has been the most affected area during the heavy rainfall period in Nandi.
