A somber mood enveloped Kewa village in Lugari sub location after the body of a 15 year old boy was retrieved from Nzoia River after drowning four days ago.
According to the deceased’s mother Joyce Walela, his son Collins Wangamati, a standard seven pupil at Namawanga primary school in Bungoma County had gone with his friends to graze animals in Lugari forest and decided to swim in the river before he drowned.
For the past three day family members, relatives and friends have camped by the river searching for his body.
The body was discovered and retrieved by the help of local divers led by Francis Wafula and Andrew Wekesa.
The family led by the grandfather Crispus Wangamati Wangila requested to be allowed to bury the body saying they had no any complaint about his death.
