Bungoma County Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Safaricom to digitize the county’s crucial services through ‘My County App’.
The co-creation and development of sustainable and transformative digital solutions among the 14 Counties from the Lake Region Economic Block is part of Safaricom’s led technology initiative to enable Counties to digitize their services and operations through a single, citizen access channel.
Speaking during the signing of the MOU in Kisii County, Governor Kenneth Lusaka hailed the collaboration between Safaricom and LREB Counties terming it as an effective tool towards realization of the development agenda through digital platforms.
“The world has gone digital. We embrace the digital future with open arms. We are glad to be among the LREB Counties to benefit from this platform.” He Said.
Lusaka noted that the partnership with Safaricom will streamline vital County services and increase visibility to revenue collection and performance that has been corrupted.

“This is the way to go. Alot of revenue is lost through corruption. This phase of transformation will help us seal the loopholes to enhance service delivery to the people”, he noted
The LREB Vice Chair implored County Governments to embrace digitalization to improve livelihoods of residents and further assuring that the program will be fully supported.
“If you want service you must be very digital. We shall walk the talk in advancing our development agenda,” he added
Under the partnership, Safaricom will develop and support the” My Bungoma App” as part of the” My Bungoma” hub that will provide digital services and citizen engagement.
The platform will ease public access to County services as well as improving livelihoods of residents through co-creation to thrive in the digital economy.
