Leader from the Jubilee coalition drummed up support for Jubilee party in West Pokot County as political parties gear up for 2017 general election.
The leaders called on Pokot community to endorse the new outfit as their flag bearer the next general election.
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet), Stephen Sang (Nandi) M.Ps Mark lomunukol (Kacheliba) and Oscar Sudi (Kapseret) said the Jubilee party will unite all Kenyans and promote national cohesion.
Speaking during burial ceremony for Dina Losiakou mother to Pokot South M.P David Pkosing, the leaders slashed at the opposition for lacking ambitious agenda for Kenyans.
They added that CORD leaders have failed to show alternative leadership for the country and instead are busy witch hunting the government.
“This people have no agenda for Kenyans because the only work they do is to hit the government on baseless issues,” said Senator Sang.
Senator Murkomen said the new outfit is not for two tribes as the opposition has been saying but it’s a party with a national face.
We want to unite all Kenyans in a party that is set to transform the country through mature and objective politics,” said Murkomen.
Murkomen pointed out that the political vehicle will give minority communities chance to lead and be like other Kenyans.
Legislators Oscar Sudi and Mark Lomunokol accused KANU party of a scheme to divide Kalenjin people despite its weak popularity in the region.
The two legislators said they will roll out an organized programme to popularize the party in the region.
“Kenyan politics has grown and we want this time round to have few political parties that will have the face of the country .Some of these small political parties have turned to represent some specific tribes,” said Sudi.
West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin said they will mobilize the community to support Jubilee party in the next general elections.
Kachapin said the community has benefited a lot in the current government and promised to support the Jubilee party.
The Governor who is a KANU member is among KANU leaders who face expulsion from the party for engaging with Jubilee leaders.
