One person was killed as two others sustained serious injuries after fighting over a woman at Kona Mbaya village, in Lumakanda location Lugari Sub County.

Confirming the incident, Lugari Sub County Police Commander Bernard Ngungu said wrangles ensued after the three had misunderstanding at a local wines and spirits selling joint when one of the customers tried touching a female attender who was serving them a situation that angered the business owner Mr. Emmanuel Shosokhe who pounced on the victim Emeli Shikanda with a knife and stabbed him severally killing him on the spot.

He also attacked the deceased friend Elly Luvaga who had accompanied him to the joint leaving him with various injuries on the body.

However, Luvaga also confronted Shisokhe, injuring him on the head before police rescued him and rushed him to Lumakanda hospital before being transferred to Kakamega County Referral Hospital under tight security.

The deceased’s body was removed from the scene by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Chebaiywa mortuary in the neighbouring  Uasin Gishu  County as they launched investigations into the incident.
